Motorola Droid RAZR HD vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Does Moto Have A Shot ?

Ever since we’ve heard about Motorola’s upcoming flagship phone – the Droid RAZR HD – we were expecting to have the chance to see it on the market earlier than Q4 this year. Evidently this is not going to happen, but a few good months ago we were beginning to wonder whether or not the RAZR HD stands a chance against the competition.

Obviously, our comparison was based on the rumors surrounding Motorola Droid RAZR HD’s hardware specs, but now that the cat is out of the bag and Motorola has officially announced the device, I think it’s time to put the Droid side-by-side with the Samsung Galaxy S3 – which has been awarded the title of the best smartphone to hit the market this year – and see if it has what it takes to make an impact on the market.

Right, let’s get down to business folks. We’ve prepared a comparison table below which will give us a clearer view on how the not-yet-launched Motorola flagship phone fares against the Galaxy S3 behemoth. Let’s take a look.

Well, it’s pretty much obvious that the Samsung Galaxy S3 takes the win in almost every aspect (except in the battery and ppi department), but is the Droid RAZR HD redundant? No, not at all. In fact, the only device that is technically capable of stealing Galaxy S3′s crown is the LG Optimus G (we’re talking about officially announced devices).

So, the bottom line is, the Droid RAZR HD doesn’t have a shot at the crown, but it does have its place on the market as a well-equipped high-end smartphone. Besides, the MAXX edition will pack an even larger battery (3300 mAh) and that will definitely prove useful for heavy-users out there.

  1. I am missing:
    - Kevlar back vs. glossy plastic
    - sealed against humidity vs?
    - what about cd/m²? The s3 is not performing good in the sun - what about the razr?
